How to Order

One of the items I comment on is the professional appearance of your submission; so be sure to follow the standard rules of submission to editors and agents.  Most publishers and literary agencies have their own requirements.  Check their guidelines.

If you don't have a particular agent or editor in mind, a reliable resource for finding directions for preparing and submitting a manuscript is a book called Writers Market, published yearly.  It's nearly always available at your local library.

Be sure to tell me what kind of book/short story/article you are writing.  In other words, what genre is it in?  Adventure?  Romance?  Science Fiction?  Western? Time Travel?  Main Stream? etc.  Also, tell me what publisher(s) you are are aiming for, if you know.  For articles, what magazine are you aiming for?

Method of Submission of your manuscript can be any of the following:

  •      Send as an attachment via e-mail.
  •      Disk
  •      CD
  •      Hard copy via The United States Post Office (a.k.a. snail mail)
  •      For locals:    Hand delivered disk, CD, or hard copy  (we'll discuss arrangements)

Currently I do not accept credit cards, so I would appreciate payment by check or money order.   I will expect half up front and half upon completion.  Make checks payable to Shirley Kennedy.  For snail mail, don't forget to include S.A.S.E. (self-addressed, stamped envelope).  Or, if you'd rather, add $8.00 for Shipping and handling.
